LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Mineola
AARP Chapter 4202 to be celebrated May 30, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations of the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to commem-
orate the 25th Anniversary of the Mineola AARP Chapter 4202 to be cele-
brated with a Spring Luncheon to be held at the Davenport Press in the
Village of Mineola, on Friday, May 30, 2014; and
WHEREAS, AARP, a nonprofit membership organization for people age 50
and over, is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all as they
age; and
WHEREAS, AARP encourages positive social change and delivers value to
members through information, advocacy and service; it also provides a
wide range of unique benefits, special products, and services for its
members; and
WHEREAS, Formed on August 29, 1988, the Mineola AARP Chapter 4202 is
located in New York, New York, and is currently ably led by President
David P. Keefe; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Mineola AARP Chapter 4202 to be
celebrated May 30, 2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to David P. Keefe, President, Mineola AARP Chapter 4202.
