LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Margrete Beneby upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition at Women and Wellness, to be held on
April 4, 2014
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals and organizations it wishes to recognize for
their valued contributions to the success and progress of society and
publicly acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic
humanity among us all; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Margrete Beneby upon the occasion of her designation for special recog-
nition; her many contributions to her community will be celebrated on
Friday, April 4, 2014, at Women and Wellness, a community conference in
Delmar, New York; and
WHEREAS, Margrete "Peggy" Beneby is being honored for her demonstrated
commitment to supporting women-owned businesses and helping women
achieve financial health; and
WHEREAS, Peggy Beneby is a Senior Regional Leader with Primerica,
Inc., working as an investment advisor representative; in this capacity,
she teaches women the basic financial concepts that lead to financial
independence; and
WHEREAS, This enterprising woman has inspired others through the shin-
ing example of her own life, confronting and overcoming challenges with
savvy, grace, and determination; she is a single-parent and cancer
survivor; and
WHEREAS, Peggy Beneby has fought diligently to educate and improve the
lives of individuals coping with cancer through her ongoing work in the
insurance industry and promoting health awareness; and
WHEREAS, Peggy Beneby is passionate in her belief in the power of
education to transform lives; she holds a master's degree in Education,
and worked for several years as an English teacher; this compassionate
woman transitioned into educating adults about financial health when she
realized that work in this arena could make more of an impact on
people's lives for the long term; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims are brought to our attention, they should be
celebrated and recognized for the edification and emulation of others;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Margrete Beneby upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition at Women and Wellness; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Margrete Beneby.
