LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Reverend Dr. Reuben Chizor upon the
occasion of his designation for special recognition by the Ambassador
for Christ International Outreach Ministry and Gateway Christian Center
on Sunday, May 4, 2014

WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in
this noble Empire State are nourished and fulfilled through the faithful
concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies
and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recog-
nition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish themselves
and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preeminence of
service; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Reverend Dr.
Reuben Chizor upon the occasion of his designation for special recogni-
tion by the Ambassador for Christ International Outreach Ministry and
Gateway Christian Center at its 4th Annual Pastors and Women of
Distinction Appreciation Awards Gala on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Floral
Terrace, Floral Park, New York; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Reuben Chizor is being recognized for his exem-
plary work and commitment to his community, which serves to empower
others; and
WHEREAS, Born in Nigeria, West Africa, Reverend Dr. Reuben Chizor was
called to the Ministry in 1978; during this time he joined the Deeper
Christian Life Ministry in Lagos, Nigeria where he received his early
Christian tutoring before attending Bible College; upon his graduation,
he became active in rural evangelism, resulting in the planting of
numerous churches across denominations in different parts of Nigeria;
and
WHEREAS, Migrating to the United States in 1991, Reverend Dr. Reuben
Chizor settled in New York; he is the Founder and General Overseer of
Hope Restoration Ministries, a Christian faith-based organization; Hope
Restoration Ministries and Hope Restoration Medical Mission Worldwide
were incorporated in 1991; and
WHEREAS, In addition, he is the Founder of Alpha Community Care
Outreach and New Hope Restoration Gifted Academy, an innovative program
which serves to bridge the educational gap and serve the children and
youth who are neglected and underserved by the present educational
system; and
WHEREAS, Active within his community, Reverend Dr. Reuben Chizor
provides numerous community outreach and enlightenment campaigns, oper-
ating a food pantry in conjunction with United Way, as well as providing
a variety of counseling and support services to the youth of Queens; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that indi-
vidual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Reverend Dr. Reuben Chizor upon the occasion of his designation
for special recognition by the Ambassador for Christ International
Outreach Ministry and Gateway Christian Center on Sunday, May 4, 2014,
noting his unremitting and compassionate faith and his exemplary service
to God, man, and his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Reverend Dr. Reuben Chizor.
