LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Angelica Montemarano upon the occasion
of her designation for special recognition at the 28th Annual Ralph J.
Sansone Endowment Scholarship Dinner on May 14, 2014

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Angelica Montemarano has given not only of her time and ener-
gies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and conse-
quently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Angelica
Montemarano upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
at the 28th Annual Ralph J. Sansone Endowment Scholarship Dinner on
Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Sirico's, Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Angelica Montemarano has been called upon to contribute her
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A student at Wagner College, Angelica Montemarano is majoring
in Economics with a minor in English, as well as American Government and
Politics; and
WHEREAS, Angelica Montemarano began volunteering for Congress of
Italian Americans Organization (CIAO) when she was just 12 years old;
six years later, she continues to serve the organization, assisting in
the office and with events such as the Children's Christmas Party and
Annual Dinner Dance; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this exemplary young woman is actively involved
with the Ralph J. Sansone Foundation, and was instrumental in the
creation of Seeds of Unity Day Care Center; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism is an essential element of all societies; it
provides a way in which the human values of community, caring and serv-
ing can be sustained and strengthened; and
WHEREAS, With a true passion for dance, Angelica Montemarano spent
many years teaching dance classes and acted as assistant choreographer
teaching young students in an effort to give back to her community; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Angelica Montemarano has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Angelica Montemarano has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Angelica Montemarano upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition at the 28th Annual Ralph J. Sansone Endowment Schol-
arship Dinner on May 14, 2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Angelica Montemarano.
