LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Diane Keasbey upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the You're an Angel Award by To Life! on May
6, 2014

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, A great community is only as great as those persons who
provide exemplary service, whether through participation in voluntary
programs, through unique personal achievement in their profession or
other endeavors, or simply through a lifetime of good citizenship; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor Diane Keas-
bey upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the You're an
Angel Award by To Life!, to be celebrated at its Annual Gala on Tuesday,
May 6, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Since 1998, To Life! has served thousands of women and their
families throughout the 10 county Capital Region providing unparalleled
education, information and support regarding breast cancer; and
WHEREAS, After working in state government for nearly a decade, Diane
Keasbey chose to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse; she is a 1994
graduate of Maria College where she earned an Associate's degree in
Nursing; and
WHEREAS, Currently enrolled in the RN/BSN program at Sage College of
Nursing, Diane Keasbey is the Community Outreach Nurse with St. Peter's
Hospital Cancer Care Center; and
WHEREAS, In this capacity, Diane Keasbey is responsible for the devel-
opment, planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of
programs consistent with St. Peter's mission, philosophy of care, as
well as organizational and departmental goals which address the health
and educational needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, she is a steadfast advocate for the continuation
and expansion of cancer education and detection services throughout the
region, and maintains educational resources for patients and their fami-
lies; and
WHEREAS, An Oncology Certified Nurse since 1998, Diane Keasbey is an
Oncology Nursing Society Member and Capital District Chapter Member; she
is Past President/Secretary and Board Member of Capital District ONS,
and a Board Member of both the American Cancer Society Advisory Board
and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Patient Services Board; and
WHEREAS, Diane Keasbey has been the recipient of numerous awards and
accolades, some of which include the Honor of Outstanding Women in
Government and Community Hospice Staff Award for Excellence; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Diane Keasbey has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Diane Keasbey upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the You're an Angel Award by To Life!; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Diane Keasbey.
