LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Warwick Valley Central School
District upon the occasion of its designation as a 2014 Best Community
for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
musical programs within our schools which distinguish themselves through
their ability to inspire students to achieve excellence in musical
performance; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
commend the Warwick Valley Central School District upon the occasion of
its designation as a 2014 Best Community for Music Education by the NAMM
Foundation; and
WHEREAS, The NAMM Foundation seeks to advance active participation in
music-making across the lifespan by supporting scientific research,
philanthropic giving and public service programs from the international
music products industry; and
WHEREAS, In its 15th year, The Best Community for Music Education
designation recognizes collaborative, from-the-ground-up efforts of
teachers, administrators, students, and parents who continually work to
keep comprehensive music education as an integral part of the core
curriculum; and
WHEREAS, The Warwick Valley Central School District has earned this
esteemed honor for two consecutive years, demonstrating its deep commit-
ment to actively promoting and nurturing a broad music program for all
of its students; the district joins 376 districts across the country to
receive this designation in 2014; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous direction of Superintendent Dr. Raymond
Bryant, Warwick Valley Central School District has demonstrated a stead-
fast commitment to Music Education; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, with the dedication of its music instructors, as
well as the unwavering support of parents, district administrators and
the Board of Education, the Warwick Valley Central School District is
providing an exceptional and unparalleled experience for its students;
and
WHEREAS, Music study is most worthy of being encouraged and promoted;
by providing students avenues for self-expression, tools for mastery,
and opportunities to exhibit their skills to an audience, they attain
self-esteem to last a lifetime; and
WHEREAS, The outstanding music programs of the Warwick Valley Central
School District have reflected favorably on all who participate in them,
and have clearly made a contribution to the spirit of excellence which
is the tradition of the District; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Warwick Valley Central School District upon the occasion of
its designation as a 2014 Best Community for Music Education by the NAMM
Foundation; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Warwick Valley Central School District.
