LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Patricia Arnold upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the New York Chapter of the Wildlife Socie-
ty's 2014 Outstanding Conservationist Award
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the continuing
welfare of the citizens of the State of New York is greatly enriched and
reliably served by the purposeful endeavors of individuals who are
committed to the preservation of our natural environment and the
enhancement of the appreciation of the distinctive features of our
surroundings, and to the economic well-being of the areas in which they
exist; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Patricia Arnold upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
New York Chapter of the Wildlife Society's 2014 Outstanding Conserva-
tionist Award; and
WHEREAS, The Outstanding Conservationist Award is presented to an
individual who works to make significant contributions to the field of
wildlife management, furthering public understanding of wildlife and
taking action to enhance the wildlife resources in New York State; and
WHEREAS, With a lifetime of appreciation for wildlife, Patricia Arnold
is undoubtedly deserving of this honor and since growing up on a farm
and being immersed in wildlife, she has developed a passion for all
things related to the outdoors; and
WHEREAS, One of the main achievements in the field of outdoor recre-
ation for which Patricia Arnold is being honored, the founding of a
Youth Trappers Camp, now duly named the Pat Arnold Youth Trappers Camp,
which has been sponsored by the New York State Trappers Association; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Patricia Arnold has been involved in a number of
other activities related to the outdoors, including the Girl Scouts of
America, serving as chairwoman for the Bonaparte Trail Neighborhood,
Camp Friendship, Jefferson County Trappers Association, serving on the
Wildlife Management Board, and serving as past president of the Natural
Bridge Area Civic Club, to name a few; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of her efforts to encourage others to enjoy
the outdoors and nature, Patricia Arnold has received numerous accolades
including being inducted into the Outdoorsman Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS, With a passion for wildlife and the outdoors, Patricia Arnold
has used her leadership qualities and vision to make a difference in her
community as well as the North Country community as a whole; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Patricia Arnold upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the New York Chapter of the Wildlife Society's 2014 Outstanding
Conservationist Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Patricia Arnold.
