LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Country Bumpkins Daycare upon the occa-
sion of its designation as recipient of the Child and Adult Care Food
Program Award by the Child Care Resource Network
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Country Bumpkins Daycare upon the occasion of its designation as recipi-
ent of the Child and Adult Care Food Program Award by the Child Care
Resource Network; and
WHEREAS, Country Bumpkins Daycare has committed itself to providing
wholesome, nutritious food to the children in its care, while teaching
responsible, healthy eating habits, and consequently has been chosen for
special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1996, by sisters Michele and Darlene Pfentner,
Country Bumpkins Daycare was started with a goal of providing parents
and children with a home away from home; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed group family child care program has consistent-
ly strived to promote healthy physical, social and emotional development
through best practices and educational activities that encourage overall
success and well-being; and
WHEREAS, Under the direction of Michele Pfentner, Country Bumpkins
Daycare provides children with instruction in traditional activities
such as baking, cooking, gardening, and other hands on activities to
promote healthy eating habits; and
WHEREAS, Country Bumpkins Daycare is proud of its 18 years of service
to the communities of Akron, Clarence, Newstead, and the surrounding
areas, and looks to continue its dedication to children and families for
many years to come; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Country Bumpkins Daycare upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Child and Adult Care Food Program Award by the Child
Care Resource Network; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michele and Darlene Pfentner, Country Bumpkins Daycare.
