LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Assistant Principal Heather Culnan upon
the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Educator Award by
the Capital District YMCA Guilderland and Bethlehem branches
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this great
State; and
WHEREAS, As an educator, Heather Culnan has shown a clear understand-
ing of the breadth of her role in shaping the futures of the children
entrusted to her care and instruction; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Heather Culnan upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Educator Award by the Capital District YMCA Guilderland and Bethlehem
branches to be celebrated at its 17th Annual Outstanding Student and
Educator Ceremony on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Appel Inn in Alta-
mont, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award recognizes high school students and
educators who unselfishly give their time and talents to build a strong-
er community; Heather Culnan, Assistant Principal of Bethlehem Central
High School, is such an educator; and
WHEREAS, The result of many individual efforts, the excellence and the
success of Bethlehem Central High School is due in large part to the
efforts of Heather Culnan, Assistant Principal; and
WHEREAS, Since she began her career at Bethlehem Central High School,
Heather Culnan has been working closely with the students and faculty;
and
WHEREAS, As a former Elementary School teacher, Heather Culnan
utilizes skills she learned in the classroom to create programs and
effective strategies to assist students; and
WHEREAS, Every year, Heather Culnan coordinates the ICan and Girls
Night Out programs; the worthy Girls Night Out program has faculty
reaching out to the young women in Bethlehem Central High School to
empower and celebrate who they are; and
WHEREAS, Heather Culnan has brought an uncompromising standard of
excellence to her work and a warm sense of caring and concern to every
young person she educates; and
WHEREAS, Heather Culnan has continually demonstrated an impressive
dedication, an unparalleled devotion and an unremitting enthusiasm for
the quality of the educational programs and opportunities offered at
Bethlehem Central High School for the benefit of its faculty and
students, as well as for the entire community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Heather Culnan upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Educator Award by the Capital District YMCA Guilderland and Beth-
lehem branches; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Heather Culnan, Assistant Principal, Bethlehem Central High
School.
