LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Alexandra Cunningham upon the occasion
of her designation as recipient of the Student Award by the Capital
District YMCA Guilderland and Bethlehem branches

WHEREAS, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Alexandra
Cunningham upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Student Award by the Capital District YMCA Guilderland and Bethlehem
branches to be celebrated at its 17th Annual Outstanding Student and
Educator ceremony on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Appel Inn in Alta-
mont, New York; and
WHEREAS, A junior at Clayton A. Bouton High School, Alexandra Cunning-
ham is very active in her community and her school; and
WHEREAS, Since her freshman year, Alexandra Cunningham has served as a
Natural Helper at Clayton A. Bouton High School; currently, she holds
the position of President for the Class of 2015; and
WHEREAS, For the past three years, Alexandra Cunningham has been the
Treasurer of Key Club; her passion for volunteerism, commitment to the
club and self-motivation has made her the perfect person to fill the
treasurer's position; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this enthused and determined student has taken
time to help instruct the Learn to Swim Program at Voorheesville High
School; and
WHEREAS, With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Alexandra Cunningham represents the best development of the potential
which is inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to wish Alexandra Cunningham continued success throughout her
school years and beyond; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Alexandra Cunningham upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the Student Award by the Capital District YMCA Guilderland
and Bethlehem branches; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Alexandra Cunningham.
