LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Health Quest upon the occasion of its
designation as a 2014 SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame
inductee as Business of the Year
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those busi-
nesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves through
outstanding professional behavior, corporate innovation, and enduring
commitment to the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Health Quest upon the occasion of its designation as a 2014 SUNY New
Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame inductee as Business of the Year;
and
WHEREAS, This momentous Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take
place on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at the Wiltwyck Golf Club in Kingston,
New York; and
WHEREAS, As the Hudson Valley's largest integrated family of hospitals
and health care providers, Health Quest delivers the highest quality
care across a variety of service lines, including Cancer Care, Cardiac
Care, Orthopedics, Neurosciences, Women's and Children's Services, and
Surgical Services; and
WHEREAS, The Health Quest family includes three Nationally recognized
hospitals, Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, Putnam Hospital
Center in Carmel, and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie;
and
WHEREAS, In addition, it consists of multiple Health Quest Medical
Practice (HQMP) primary care and specialty locations, two Health Quest
Urgent Care locations for walk-in urgent care and affiliates including
Hudson Valley Home Care and The Heart Center; and
WHEREAS, Health Quest delivers immediate, compassionate care, using
the latest medical technology, to more than one million people in Colum-
bia, Dutchess, Ulster, Orange, Putnam and northern Westchester counties;
and
WHEREAS, Among numerous awards and accolades, Health Quest was named
the Most Recognized Hospital System in the Mid-Hudson River Valley
Region in 2013, by Healthgrades, a leading hospital ratings organiza-
tion; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Health Quest employs more than 4,000 individ-
uals, affiliates with higher education institutions including SUNY New
Paltz, conducts research and is recognized for clinical excellence; and
WHEREAS, Businesses such as Health Quest exert a strong, positive
influence on the communities they serve and are a crucial element in the
economy of New York State; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges Health Quest's success, recognizes its contributions to the local
and State economies, and extends its highest commendation to the corpo-
ration and its employees, fully confident that, in its future, it will
enjoy the same success which has so characterized its past; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Health Quest upon the occasion of its designation as a 2014 SUNY
New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame inductee as Business of the
Year; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Health Quest.
