LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Rebecca Hasbrouck upon the occasion of
her designation as a 2014 SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame
inductee as Alumnus of the Year
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Rebecca Hasbrouck upon the occasion of her designation as a 2014 SUNY
New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame inductee as Alumnus of the
Year; and
WHEREAS, This momentous Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held
on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at the Wiltwyck Golf Club in Kingston, New
York; and
WHEREAS, A woman of singular distinction, Rebecca Hasbrouck has
continually demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence
and diligent leadership in her unwavering service to both her community
and profession and consequently has been selected for this most presti-
gious honor; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca Hasbrouck of Newburgh, New York, graduated Summa Cum
Laude in 2000 from the State University of New York at New Paltz with a
Bachelor's degree, and earned her Master's degree in Business Adminis-
tration in 2004; and
WHEREAS, Since her graduation, Rebecca Hasbrouck earned the profes-
sional titles of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Infor-
mation Technology Professional (CITP), as well as the illustrious title
of Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA); and
WHEREAS, In November of 2002, Rebecca Hasbrouck joined the firm of
Vanacore, DeBenedictus, DiGiovanni & Weddell; she was promoted to
In-Charge Accountant in 2004, and climbed the ranks to her current posi-
tion of Manager in 2012; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Rebecca Hasbrouck is currently attending the
Partner Development Program to assist her in reaching her goal of becom-
ing a Partner in the firm; and
WHEREAS, An adjunct professor at SUNY New Paltz from 2010 to 2012,
Rebecca Hasbrouck also taught at Marist College in 2008 and 2009; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca Hasbrouck has been the recipient of numerous awards
and accolades some of which include, Orange County Rising Stars in 2001,
40 Under 40 in 2011 and the NYSSCPA Student of the Year in 1999; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Rebecca Hasbrouck upon the occasion of her designation as a 2014
SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame inductee as Alumnus of
the Year; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Rebecca Hasbrouck.
