LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Elizabeth Sydney upon the occasion of
her designation as a 2014 SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame
inductee as Student Leader of the Year

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and leaders
of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the ideals
and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Elizabeth Sydney upon the occasion of her designation as a 2014 SUNY New
Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame inductee as Student Leader of the
Year; and
WHEREAS, This momentous Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held
on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at the Wiltwyck Golf Club in Kingston, New
York; and
WHEREAS, A young woman of singular distinction, Elizabeth Sydney has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, estab-
lishing a high standard of academic excellence and purposefulness of
life rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, A student at the State University of New York at New Paltz,
Elizabeth Sydney, affectionately known as Liz, has applied her outstand-
ing management, marketing and organizational skills to the Collegiate
Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA); and
WHEREAS, Elected Vice-President of Programming in her first year of
college, Elizabeth Sydney was subsequently elected President in her
second year of studies and has successfully completed multiple AMA
projects with favorable results; and
WHEREAS, The steadfast efforts of Elizabeth Sydney contributed to the
New Paltz AMA Chapter receiving the Bronze Chapter Award in 2012-2013,
as one of the top 16 Chapters in the Nation at the International AMA
competition in New Orleans; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, as part of the Annual Marketing Plan and Report,
Elizabeth Sydney developed an innovative collaborative marketing plan
with her fellow Board Members that gained positive reviews from the
judges at the International AMA Conference; and
WHEREAS, A true leader and role model, Elizabeth Sydney is actively
involved in SUNY New Paltz' Mentor Program, and is currently serving as
President of both the Dean's Student Advisory Board and the American
Marketing Association; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to honor Elizabeth Sydney, a
young woman and able scholar, recognizing the value of her labors and
the promise of her future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Elizabeth Sydney upon the occasion of her designation as a 2014
SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame inductee as Student Lead-
er of the Year, to commend her for her outstanding academic achievement
and to extend to her the best wishes of this Legislative Body for a
future of purposeful success and well-being, fully confident of her
response to a promising future and appreciative of the model she repres-
ents for all aspiring young people of the Empire State; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Elizabeth Sydney.
