LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Carrie Traynor upon the occasion of her
induction into the Bishop Maginn High School Hall of Fame as a Student-
Athlete on May 2, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
outstanding athletes who have distinguished themselves through their
exceptional performance, attaining unprecedented success and the highest
level of personal achievement; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Carrie Traynor upon the occasion of her induction into the Bishop Maginn
High School Hall of Fame as a Student-Athlete, to be celebrated at its
Induction Dinner on Friday, May 2, 2014, at Shaker Ridge Country Club,
Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, A 1998 graduate of Bishop Maginn High School, Carrie Traynor
played Volleyball and Softball for four years and was selected for MVP
in both sports; she played basketball for three years, and was Captain
as well as a member of the Big Ten Championship team in her Sophomore
year; and
WHEREAS, In addition, she was on the Honor Roll numerous times and
volunteered at McAvley Assisted Living Residence; and
WHEREAS, Carrie Traynor holds an Associate's degree from Hudson Valley
Community College and a Bachelor's degree from SUNY Albany; she current-
ly serves as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service; and
WHEREAS, Prior to her time with the Postal Service, Carrie Traynor
worked in the restaurant business and as a personal trainer for several
years; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Albany, Carrie Traynor and her husband, Jeremy
McCloskey, give back to the community by volunteering their time to
Mater Christi Church of Albany, as well as to Equinox during the holiday
season; she is a proud and loving mother to her two-year-old son, Logan;
and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Carrie Traynor has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Carrie Traynor upon the occasion of her induction into the Bishop
Maginn High School Hall of Fame as a Student-Athlete; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Carrie Traynor.
