LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Gabriela Wemple upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Student Award by the Capital District
YMCA Guilderland and Bethlehem branches

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Gabriela
Wemple upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Student
Award by the Capital District YMCA Guilderland and Bethlehem branches to
be celebrated at its 17th Annual Outstanding Student and Educator cere-
mony on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Appel Inn in Altamont, New York;
and
WHEREAS, A sophomore at Bethlehem High School, Gabriela Wemple is
involved in numerous clubs inside and outside of her school; and
WHEREAS, Gabriela Wemple is active in Environmental Club, where she
makes crafts with the elementary school kids, is the Vice-President of
her school's S.A.D.D. club, and spends her Saturdays with the S.T.E.P
program, which helps promote Science and Technology to other students;
and
WHEREAS, In addition, this motivated student is involved in the Albany
Medical College Science and Technology Entry Program at Albany Medical
College; and
WHEREAS, A leader amongst her peers, Gabriela Wemple leads the Busi-
ness Plan Project as an Organization and Management Personnel for the
program; and
WHEREAS, With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Gabriela Wemple represents the best development of the potential which
is inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to wish Gabriela Wemple continued success throughout her school
years and beyond; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Gabriela Wemple upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Student Award by the Capital District YMCA Guilderland and Beth-
lehem branches; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Gabriela Wemple.
