LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Noah Poust upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Student Award by the Capital District
YMCA Guilderland and Bethlehem branches

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Noah Poust
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Student Award
by the Capital District YMCA Guilderland and Bethlehem branches to be
celebrated at its 17th Annual Outstanding Student and Educator ceremony
on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Appel Inn in Altamont, New York; and
WHEREAS, A junior at Bethlehem Central High School, Noah Poust has
been part of the Boy Scouts of America for the past seven years, and
recently received the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, For his Eagle Scout project, Noah Poust coordinated a large
scale service project to benefit the Farano Center for Children, which
is a home for children who have situations that prevent them from living
with their own families; he was able to re-paint walls and ceilings,
repair bookshelves, and add wall decals to a child's playroom; in addi-
tion, he was able to collect 1,000 books to donate to the Farano Center;
and
WHEREAS, As a member of the Key Club for over a year, Noah Poust
volunteers at the Regional Food Bank which helps provide food for fami-
lies in need in 23 different counties throughout New York State; and
WHEREAS, With his sense of civic duty and his commitment to others,
Noah Poust represents the best development of the potential which is
inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to wish Noah Poust continued success throughout his school years
and beyond; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Noah Poust upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Student Award by the Capital District YMCA Guilderland and Bethlehem
branches; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Noah Poust.
