LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring T. Scott King upon the occasion of his
induction into the Bishop Maginn High School Hall of Fame as a Distin-
guished Alumnus

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, A great community is only as great as those persons and
organizations that provide exemplary service, whether through partic-
ipation in voluntary programs, through unique personal achievement in
their profession or other endeavors, or through a lifetime of good citi-
zenship; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor T. Scott King
upon the occasion of his induction into the Bishop Maginn High School
Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Alumnus, to be celebrated at its
Induction Dinner on Friday, May 2, 2014, at Shaker Ridge Country Club,
Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, A 1970 graduate of Vincentian Institute, T. Scott King was a
four year Varsity Baseball and two year Varsity Basketball letter
winner; he went on to graduate from SUNY Oswego where he started on the
Oswego Varsity Basketball team and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in
Business; and
WHEREAS, T. Scott King began his illustrious career in sales and later
moved into the marketing of consumer goods; in 1992, he was appointed
President and General Manager of the Consumer Division of the Sherwin-
Williams Company; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, he was named Sherwin-Williams President/General
Manager of the Year in 1996; and
WHEREAS, In 1998, T. Scott King was appointed CEO and President of
Waterlink, a New York Stock Exchange Company which is an international
provider of water treatment systems; and
WHEREAS, T. Scott King joined Sun Capital Partners in 2003, a private
equity firm focused on acquiring turnarounds; as managing director, he
oversaw a portfolio of eight to twelve companies, and in 2007, he was
promoted to the esteemed position of Senior Managing Director; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of 37 years, Deborah,
their three children, Nicole, Deanna and David, and two grandchildren,
Kaitlyn and Andrew, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life
and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and in the
great State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good
works of those civic-minded community members who dedicate their lives
and career to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor T. Scott King upon the occasion of his induction into the Bishop
Maginn High School Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Alumnus; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to T. Scott King.
