LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the
Holbrook Chamber of Commerce
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary organizations it wishes to recognize for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 60th Anniversary of the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, The Holbrook Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer organization
dedicated to the improvement of the business community in Holbrook; for
the past six decades, it has worked diligently to make Holbrook a desir-
able community on Long Island in which to live, shop and work; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce is to help
its members develop strong and profitable businesses within the communi-
ty; to encourage fair business practices among its members; to foster a
sense of community among business owners and residents and an under-
standing of their importance to each other; and to inspire members,
commercial property owners and residents toward the common goal of
continuing to make Holbrook a beautiful place to live and work; and
WHEREAS, The Holbrook Chamber of Commerce sponsors the annual
Carnival/Craft Festival, Rag A Muffin Spooktacular, Christmas Tree and
Menorah Lightings, Holiday Decorations, Easter Egg Roll, and Homeowner's
Expos, to name a few; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce continues to
work very hard with the local government to get roads repaved, improve
lighting and sidewalks, landscape public areas, and provide banners
which decorate the streets of Holbrook; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce.
