LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Progressive Insurance Company of Colo-
nie, New York, upon the occasion of its designation for special recogni-
tion by the Robert L. Weininger Memorial V.F.W. Post No. 8692 on May 4,
2014
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and the great
State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good works
of those patriotic and civic-minded community members who devote them-
selves to the welfare of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Progressive Insurance Company of Colonie, New York, upon the occasion of
its designation for special recognition by the Robert L. Weininger
Memorial V.F.W. Post No. 8692 at its 44th Annual Loyalty Day Ceremony on
Sunday, May 4, 2014, at the Post Hall, Colonie, New York; and
WHEREAS, As part of the Loyalty Day, "The Celebration of Patriotism,"
event, Wayne Richardson, Service Center Manager of Progressive Insurance
Company, Colonie, will be presented the 2014 Commanders Award; and
WHEREAS, Selected by the Commander of V.F.W. Post No. 8692, the
Commanders Award is given annually to either a post member for outstand-
ing service to the post and community, or to a community business for
their support of veterans or active service members; and
WHEREAS, Progressive Insurance Company, Colonie, was a vital partic-
ipant in the Keys to Progress program; they partnered with V.F.W. Post
No. 8692 to rebuild a car and give it to a veteran in need; and
WHEREAS, Loyalty Day is a commemorative holiday, upon the observance
of which Americans pause to celebrate our freedom and to reaffirm our
allegiance to the United States, while also remembering our responsibil-
ities to continue the legacy of liberty; and
WHEREAS, The act of giving to those veterans who have given so much
for this country exemplifies the ideals of Loyalty Day, and embodies the
spirit of the principles upon which this Nation was founded; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when businesses
of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our attention,
they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Progressive Insurance Company of Colonie, New York, upon the
occasion of its designation for special recognition by the Robert L.
Weininger Memorial V.F.W. Post No. 8692 at its 44th Annual Loyalty Day
Ceremony; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Wayne Richardson, Service Center Manager, Progressive Insur-
ance Company, Colonie, New York.
