LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating 18 members of the West Hempstead
Franklin Square Association of Girl Scouts Troop 1025 upon the occasion
of receiving the distinguished Girl Scout Silver Award, the most presti-
gious of Cadette Scouting honors
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in accord with its
long-standing traditions, to honor the youth of today, and leaders of
tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the ideals and
values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Through their diligence and rigorous efforts, 18 members of
the West Hempstead Franklin Square Association of Girl Scouts Troop 1025
have achieved Cadette Scouting's highest honor, the Girl Scout Silver
Award; and
WHEREAS, The accomplishments of Sara Arevalo, Victoria Arnold, Christ-
ina Callovi, Adriana Carrini, Kyra Cooleen, Maia Fernandez, Nicole
Fernandez, Melanie Fox, Briana Frandina, Samantha Gioia, Katie Going,
Zofia Gornicz, Amanda Gunn, Josephine Kurdziel, Marissa Nicoletti,
Jillian Puvogel, Stephanie Schneider, and Katelynn Sinnott, will be
celebrated in a ceremony at the Annual Association Bridging and Awards
Night on Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Washington Street School, Franklin
Square, New York; and
WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has cultivated in our nation's young people the
values of sisterhood, leadership, and the importance of working with
others, developing both mind and body, instilling pride, and encouraging
community service and success; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has expanded the horizons of millions of young
women over the decades through the excellent programs that have made it
an American and international institution; and
WHEREAS, These 18 committed Girl Scouts have used their knowledge and
leadership skills to make a difference in the world by completing a
Silver Award community service project which they planned, developed and
executed; and
WHEREAS, The Silver Award is earned over a two-year period; this
achievement demonstrates the high character and commitment of these
inspiring young women, and is a harbinger of their future contributions
to their communities, the State of New York, and our nation; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor 18 members of the West Hempstead Franklin Square
Association of Girl Scouts Troop 1025 upon the occasion of receiving the
distinguished Girl Scout Silver Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Girl Scouts Sara Arevalo, Victoria Arnold, Christina Callovi,
Adriana Carrini, Kyra Cooleen, Maia Fernandez, Nicole Fernandez, Melanie
Fox, Briana Frandina, Samantha Gioia, Katie Going, Zofia Gornicz, Amanda
Gunn, Josephine Kurdziel, Marissa Nicoletti, Jillian Puvogel, Stephanie
Schneider, and Katelynn Sinnott.
