LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Franklin Trapp upon the occasion of his
selection as a Young Professional Up and Comer in the Business Community
by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Franklin Trapp has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Franklin Trapp upon the occasion of his selection as a Young Profes-
sional Up and Comer in the Business Community by the SULLIVAN COUNTY
DEMOCRAT; and
WHEREAS, Franklin Trapp, Producer of Forestburgh Playhouse, was
selected for this esteemed recognition for being hardworking, ambitious,
and creative; and
WHEREAS, Franklin Trapp's first role as a school-age kid in "The Sound
of Music," captured his heart as an actor and performer; and
WHEREAS, Continuing his love of acting in both high school and
college, Franklin Trapp studied to become a Spanish professor, but
shortly after moved to New York City; and
WHEREAS, One of Franklin Trapp's early jobs was with the Forestburgh
Playhouse, and he also found a job on tour with a show; and
WHEREAS, Following the tour, Franklin Trapp decided to return to the
Forestburgh Playhouse, where this talented actor earned his equity card
and performed there for four years; in addition, he did stints writing
and directing children's shows, directing cabarets, and directing the
Playhouse's first production of "The Sound of Music"; his favorite role
was as the passionate and fiery younger brother in "Ragtime"; and
WHEREAS, In 2006, Franklin Trapp attended Vanderbilt University Law
School, earning his degree in 2009; and
WHEREAS, Franklin Trapp went on to work with the current Forestburgh
Playhouse owner to purchase the playhouse, and the duo are very close to
raising the curtain on the 2014 season; its upcoming hits will include:
"A Murder is Announced," "My Fair Lady," "Mame," "The Best Little Whore-
house in Texas," "Marry Poppins," "The Chosen," and "La Cage Aux
Folles"; and
WHEREAS, The oldest summer stock theater in New York State, the
Forestburgh Playhouse, is poised on the brink of exciting new changes
for its 68th season with young professional Franklin Trapp as its new
producer; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Franklin Trapp upon the occasion of his selection as a Young
Professional Up and Comer in the Business Community by the SULLIVAN
COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Franklin Trapp.
