LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Mr. and Mrs. Louis-Jack Pozner upon the
occasion of their designation for special recognition by Congregation
Beth Abraham-Jacob on May 11, 2014

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Louis-Jack Pozner have given not only of their
time and energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leader-
ship and consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Mr. and Mrs.
Louis-Jack Pozner upon the occasion of their designation for special
recognition by Congregation Beth Abraham-Jacob, to be celebrated at its
Annual Dinner on Sunday, May 11, 2014, in Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Louis-Jack Pozner have been called upon to
contribute their time and talents to countless civic and charitable
endeavors and have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Louis-Jack and Rona Pozner have been leaders in the Albany
Jewish community for more than four decades; they have been involved in
almost every aspect of Capital Region Jewish community life, having led
such esteemed organizations as the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New
York, Daughters of Sarah, Vaad HaKashruth of the Capital District,
Temple Israel, and Bet Shraga Hebrew Academy, to name a few; and
WHEREAS, The community and Congregation Beth Abraham-Jacob have great-
ly benefited from Louis-Jack and Rona Pozner's enduring energy, wisdom,
and leadership; and
WHEREAS, Rona Pozner currently serves as the chairwoman of the Commu-
nity Coalition for Jewish Education, while Louis-Jack Pozner serves as
chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of North-
eastern New York; and
WHEREAS, The tremendous impact Louis-Jack and Rona Pozner have had on
Congregation Beth Abraham-Jacob, as well as the community at large,
cannot be overstated; their unwavering contributions to individuals and
families of the Capital Region will continue to have a deep impact on
the lives of those they have touched; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Mr. and Mrs. Louis-Jack Pozner have
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With them throughout have been their three loving children,
Samantha Hickman, Jo-Ellen Zeitlin and Zachary Pozner, and their four
beautiful grandchildren, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of
their lives and rejoice in their achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Mr. and Mrs. Louis-Jack Pozner have
displayed throughout their lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mr. and Mrs. Louis-Jack Pozner upon the occasion of their desig-
nation for special recognition by Congregation Beth Abraham-Jacob on May
11, 2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mr. and Mrs. Louis-Jack Pozner.
