LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Bana Hadid upon the occasion of her
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2014 OCIAA Scholar Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Bana Hadid
upon the occasion of her recognition by the Orange County Interscholas-
tic Athletic Association as a 2014 OCIAA Scholar Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Bana Hadid has distinguished
herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and maturity,
establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposefulness of
life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Bana Hadid, a student at Newburgh Free Academy in Newburgh,
New York, ranked 1st in her class and participated in swimming; and
WHEREAS, Class Valedictorian as well as a member of National Honor
Society, French Honor Society, and NYS Science Honor Society, Bana Hadid
is a Student Government Senator and a Peer Tutor; she plans to attend
Brown University to major in Cellular and Molecular Biology; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Bana Hadid has
brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Bana Hadid may stand with pride in her achievements, experi-
encing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she continues
her education; and
WHEREAS, Bana Hadid represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Bana Hadid upon the occasion of her recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2014 OCIAA Scholar
Athlete, and to wish her well in her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bana Hadid.
