LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Barbara Martin upon the occasion of
being selected as Clinton County's 2014 Senior Citizen of the Year
WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their past
contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and valuable
asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Barbara Martin
upon the occasion of being selected as Clinton County's 2014 Senior
Citizen of the Year in recognition of her outstanding contributions to
her community through her valuable and much appreciated volunteer work;
and
WHEREAS, As Clinton County's 2014 Senior Citizen of the Year, Barbara
Martin will participate in the Annual New York State Senior Citizens Day
Luncheon hosted by the State Office for the Aging (SOFA) at the Hart
Theatre Lounge in the Egg, Albany, New York, on Tuesday, May 6, 2014;
and
WHEREAS, Barbara Martin has been a resident of Clinton County for
virtually her entire life; she is devoted to her family and her communi-
ty; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Martin has made tremendous contributions to the well-
being of her fellow man in her year as a volunteer with the Senior Citi-
zens Council of Clinton County; she began volunteering one day per week,
and has since devoted herself to five activities, has developed two
activities herself, and is spearheading a fundraiser for the Council at
the Champlain Mall; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Barbara Martin's distinguished
record merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative
Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Barbara Martin upon the occasion of being selected as Clinton
County's 2014 Senior Citizen of the Year; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Barbara Martin.
