LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Maureen Munzert upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2014 Small Business Advocate of the Year
Award by the Amherst Chamber of Commerce
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of business organ-
izations and individuals that generously contribute to the welfare of
the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Maureen Munzert upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2014 Small Business Advocate of the Year Award by the Amherst Chamber of
Commerce; this momentous occasion will be celebrated at the Chamber's
annual Small Business Awards Luncheon and Showcase, to be held on
Friday, May 16, 2014, at Samuel's Grande Manor, Williamsville, New York;
and
WHEREAS, The Amherst Chamber of Commerce is one of the 10 largest
chambers in New York State due to its steadfast commitment to providing
services members need to grow their business and prosperity; each May,
the Chamber hosts a luncheon to honor seven outstanding individuals and
small businesses in Western New York for their vast contributions to the
region; and
WHEREAS, Maureen Munzert, a resident of Williamsville, New York, is a
Vice President and Small Business Relationship Manager at the Key Bank
Evans Sheridan Branch; she began her banking career at this branch in
1978 at Buffalo Savings Bank as a part time teller, where she built her
foundation of the importance of providing superior service of people's
banking needs; and
WHEREAS, In the early 1980s, Maureen Munzert left the branch to join
the Human Resources Training Department to develop and deliver programs
focused on service and sales expertise to the Retail network; and
WHEREAS, After exposure to commercial banking in 1991, Maureen Munzert
came back to the branches, her true love, and in 1996 returned to her
home community of Williamsville, where she began her illustrious career;
and
WHEREAS, Maureen Munzert's greatest professional pride is the influ-
ence she has had in developing a number of Key Bank's most productive
associates; with a passion for her job, she truly looks forward to every
day she spends with her clients, assisting and guiding them through
their financial wins and challenges; and
WHEREAS, Active within her community, Maureen Munzert serves on the
Amherst Chamber Business Resource Council and is a Key4Women champion
dedicated to helping women-owned businesses grow; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Dick, as well as
her three children and eight grandchildren, all of whom feel privileged
to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Maureen Munzert;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Maureen Munzert upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2014 Small Business Advocate of the Year Award by the Amherst
Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Maureen Munzert.
