LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kiley Rowe upon the occasion of her
selection into the Carnegie Hall Middle School Honors Performance
Program

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor and pay trib-
ute to those individuals whose commitment and creative talents have
contributed to the entertainment and cultural enrichment of the citizens
of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Kiley Rowe upon the occasion of her selection into the Carnegie Hall
Middle School Honors Performance Program to be celebrated at an unfor-
gettable performance on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Carnegie Hall; and
WHEREAS, The five-day Carnegie Hall Middle School Honors Performance
Program invites elite middle school musicians to join the Honors Choir
and Honors Instrumental Ensemble, after several days of rehearsal under
the direction of renowned music conductors, to culminate in a perform-
ance at Carnegie Hall; Kiley Rowe is one such individual; and
WHEREAS, A self-motivator with a great musical intuition, Kiley Rowe,
eighth grader at C.J. Hooker Middle School, is a successful leader and
role model in the Goshen CSD orchestra program; and
WHEREAS, Kiley Rowe's journey to Carnegie Hall began at the age of
seven when her love for the violin blossomed; her parents purchased her
a violin before she entered the fourth grade and engaged a tutor; subse-
quently, she learned to play the viola and cello fluently; and
WHEREAS, A standout musician, Kiley Rowe won a solo competition, play-
ing electric violin alongside a well-known rock and roll musician, and
has played with the Jimmy Sturr Orchestra; in addition, she performed
for the New York State School Music Association, earning a level five
out of six proficiency and a score of 94, and was Junior High All-County
first violin concert master; and
WHEREAS, Talent, dedication, and countless hours of practice have made
Kiley Rowe the outstanding violinist she is today; and
WHEREAS, Kiley Rowe works hard at her music rehearsals, classroom
assignments and practice sessions, fully aware that the amount of time
and energy she is willing to expend directly affects the quality of her
music; and
WHEREAS, Her parents, sister, and teachers, are extremely proud of
Kiley Rowe's musical achievements and her participation in the Carnegie
Hall Middle School Honors Performance Program, and feel privileged to be
a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body recognizes the importance of the
performing arts, which act to inspire, enlighten, and unify people from
all cultural backgrounds through the transcendent power of human
expression; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kiley Rowe upon the occasion of her selection into the Carnegie
Hall Middle School Honors Performance Program; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kiley Rowe.
