LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Community Board 17 upon the occasion of
hosting its Recognition Day Awards Ceremony on April 27, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in accord with its long-stand-
ing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Community
Board 17 upon the occasion of hosting its Recognition Day Awards Ceremo-
ny which was celebrated on April 27, 2014, at the Tropical Paradise
Ballroom and Banquet Hall in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Community Board 17 is a local governmental body in the New
York City borough of Brooklyn with jurisdiction over an area comprising
the neighborhoods of East Flatbush, Remsen Village, Farragut, Rugby,
Erasmus and Ditmas Village; for many years has served the interests of
the people of its community; and
WHEREAS, Community Board 17 is holding its Recognition Day Ceremony in
honor of the children, seniors, and trailblazers whose shoulders the
organization rests on; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed event is an important milestone for the commu-
nity; quality programs such as these, heighten awareness, and strengthen
and highlight the Brooklyn community in a positive way; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when associ-
ations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Community Board 17 upon the occasion of hosting its Recognition
Day Awards Ceremony; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Community Board 17.
