LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Richard Nozell upon the occasion of his
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2014 OCIAA Scholar Athlete
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Richard Nozell
upon the occasion of his recognition by the Orange County Interscholas-
tic Athletic Association as a 2014 OCIAA Scholar Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Richard Nozell has distin-
guished himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and matu-
rity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposeful-
ness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Richard Nozell, a student at Valley Central High School in
Montgomery, New York, ranked 21st in his class and participated in swim-
ming and lacrosse; and
WHEREAS, A member of National Honor Society, Science Honor Society and
Math Honor Society, Richard Nozell is the Science Olympiad team presi-
dent and an Orange Regional Medical Center volunteer; he plans to attend
Rochester Institute of Technology to study in the Physician Assistant
Program; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Richard Nozell
has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Richard Nozell may stand with pride in his achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he contin-
ues his education; and
WHEREAS, Richard Nozell represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Richard Nozell upon the occasion of his recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2014 OCIAA Scholar
Athlete, and to wish him well in his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Richard Nozell.
