LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Youth Services Committee of Commu-
nity Board 17 upon the occasion of hosting "Today's Achievers-Tomorrow's
Successors" event on May 17, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
organizations of true commitment whose purpose and endeavors have been
dedicated to the pursuit of opportunity and advancement for the youth of
this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Youth Services Committee of Community Board 17 upon the occasion of
hosting its "Today's Achievers-Tomorrow's Successors" event on Saturday,
May 17, 2014, at Tilden Educational Academy in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, This special gathering is designed to be an exciting and
information-filled day for Brooklyn youth to explore what the future
holds for them, and obtain support from caring, invested adults and
community leaders; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Community Board 17 is dedicated to
improving the lives of Brooklyn residents in the neighborhoods of East
Flatbush, Northeast East Flatbush, Rugby, Farragut/Hyde Park, Remsen
Village, Ditmas Village and Erasmus; and
WHEREAS, The Youth Services Committee of Community Board 17 has been
an integral part of the history of its community, representing a dynam-
ic, responsive and positive force for its youth by sponsoring creative
programs and advocating for resources and support; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned our
recognition and applause; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Youth Services Committee of Community Board 17 upon the
occasion of hosting its "Today's Achievers-Tomorrow's Successors" event;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Youth Services Committee of Community Board 17.
