LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Alec Visslailli upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the President's Volunteer Service Award

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Alec
Visslailli upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
President's Volunteer Service Award; and
WHEREAS, Alec Visslailli, senior at Carle Place High School, received
this auspicious award, which recognizes Americans of all ages who have
volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their community
and country; and
WHEREAS, The President's Volunteer Service Award is an awards program
that encourages United States citizens to live a life of service through
presidential recognition; Alec Visslailli is one such individual; and
WHEREAS, Alec Visslailli was recognized by President Barack Obama for
his volunteer service and demonstrating the kind of commitment to his
community that moves America a step closer to its great promise; his
devotion to service has shaped a better tomorrow for our great Nation;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Alec Visslailli has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Alec Visslailli has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Alec Visslailli upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the President's Volunteer Service Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Alec Visslailli.
