LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring DJ Enuff upon the occasion of his desig-
nation for special recognition by the King of Kings Foundation Inc. on
June 7, 2014
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, DJ Enuff has given not only of his time and energies but also
of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has been
designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor DJ Enuff upon
the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the King of
Kings Foundation Inc., to be celebrated at its Black Tie Awards Gala on
Saturday, June 7, 2014; and
WHEREAS, DJ Enuff was raised in the lower east side but spent most of
his adolescence in Flatbush, Brooklyn; he attended Kingsborough Communi-
ty College where he majored in Communications and Broadcasting; and
WHEREAS, DJ Enuff began his illustrious career filling in for the
legendary DJ Red Alert on 98.7 KISS FM; he quickly became Red Alert's
permanent substitute, and before long he advanced to his own slot on
Monday and Wednesday nights; and
WHEREAS, Destined to be a DJ, audiences loved DJ Enuff's skills, and
clubs everywhere were looking to book him; due to the high demand, he
decided to return to the local party scene, during which time he caught
the attention of the late legend Notorious BIG and became his road DJ;
and
WHEREAS, Today, DJ Enuff is a world renowned DJ and works for the
number one station of Hip Hop and R&B, WQHT Hot 97.1 FM NY, where he has
consistently held the number one DJ spot of afternoon radio; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, DJ Enuff initiated and manages the number one DJ
crew in America, the Heavy Hitters, comprised of 30 members nationwide
from New York to Los Angeles; the mission of the Heavy Hitters is to
unite DJ's across the country and abroad, help launch careers from DJ's
to artists, and to bring the versatility of music into one union; and
WHEREAS, DJ Enuff has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A compassionate volunteer, DJ Enuff commenced the DJ Threat
Charity Softball Game in honor of the late DJ Threat, and continues this
tradition annually; the event promotes camaraderie and all proceeds go
to the DJ Threat Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Active within his community, DJ Enuff has traveled to differ-
ent schools to talk to children about the importance of an education; he
was involved in the promotion of new recruits for the NYC Police Depart-
ment, and has volunteered his time to feed the homeless; in addition, he
dedicates his time to annual cancer benefits and plays an instrumental
role in American Diabetes Alert Day; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, DJ Enuff has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which DJ Enuff has displayed throughout
his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor DJ Enuff upon the occasion of his designation for special recogni-
tion by the King of Kings Foundation Inc. on June 7, 2014; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to DJ Enuff.
