LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Judith Ferrara Wesley upon the occasion
of her designation as recipient of the Outstanding Educator Award by the
Capital District YMCA on May 21, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Judith Ferrara Wesley upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Outstanding Educator Award by the Capital District YMCA to be
celebrated at the 2014 Albany Outstanding Students and Educators Break-
fast on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at SUNY Albany; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the Capital District YMCA, Albany Branch, conduct
an Annual Outstanding Student and Educator Awards program recognizing
those high school sophomores, juniors, seniors, and high school
educators/counselors who exhibit qualities of leadership, citizenship
and volunteerism in the community; Judith Ferrara Wesley is one such
individual; and
WHEREAS, The program focuses on academic and school related achieve-
ments, as well as the kind and amount of community service the educators
are engaged in; self-generated activities are the most highly rated; and
WHEREAS, Educators like Judith Ferrara Wesley provide a tremendous
service to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of
young people in their educational journeys and ensuring their success in
their future years; and
WHEREAS, Judith Ferrara Wesley has clearly had an enduring impact on
high school students as well as on the community-at-large, and accord-
ingly merits recognition and applause for her impressive dedication to
others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support our proud tradition of
public education by providing their skills and talents to our schools;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Judith Ferrara Wesley upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the Outstanding Educator Award by the Capital District YMCA
on May 21, 2014; and
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Judith Ferrara Wesley.
