LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Outgoing President Martha Juenger upon
the occasion of her designation for special recognition by Troy Area
United Ministries on May 29, 2014
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of New
York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the community;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Outgoing President Martha Juenger upon the occasion of her designation
for special recognition by Troy Area United Ministries, to be celebrated
at its FEAST event on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Franklin Terrace,
Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, A true pillar within her community, Martha Juenger's distin-
guished service to the Troy Area United Ministries (TAUM) merits the
recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body; and
WHEREAS, A teacher at LaSalle School in Albany, New York, Martha Juen-
ger has been on the TAUM Board of Directors for six years, three of
which she served in the esteemed position of President; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism is an essential element of all societies; it
provides a way in which the human values of community, caring and serv-
ing can be sustained and strengthened; and
WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism promotes family and community solidarity; most
importantly, people who volunteer their time in civic and charitable
endeavors inspire others to the call of volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Martha Juenger has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Martha Juenger has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend individ-
uals of outstanding character, who have shown initiative and commitment
toward constantly pursuing higher goals for themselves, and acting as
role models of leadership to be emulated by both peers and young people;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Outgoing President Martha Juenger upon the occasion of her desig-
nation for special recognition by Troy Area United Ministries on May 29,
2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Outgoing President Martha Juenger.
