LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kathleen M. Rogers upon the occasion of
her retirement

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Kathleen M.
Rogers for her service as St. Lawrence County Surrogate Court Judge; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen Rogers' retirement is effective on May 30, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen Rogers has served on the bench as Surrogate Court
Judge since 1989; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Albany Law School, Kathleen Rogers was admitted
to the New York State Bar in 1978; and
WHEREAS, Judge Rogers previously served as a law clerk for the St.
Lawrence County Surrogate Court and also as a justice of the Potsdam
Village Court; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Judge Rogers has presided with integ-
rity and fairness over thousands of cases and has seen a number of
changes in the judicial system, including a modernizing of the court
into the electronic and computer age; and
WHEREAS, In her retirement, Judge Rogers looks forward to spending
time traveling and reading; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kathleen M. Rogers for her service to the St. Lawrence County
Surrogate Court; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kathleen M. Rogers.
