LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Laurel Grove Florist & Greenhouse upon
the occasion of its induction into the Tri-State Chamber of Commerce
Hall of Fame on May 17, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals and businesses who devote themselves to the welfare of the communi-
ty and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the Laurel
Grove Florist & Greenhouse upon the occasion of its induction into the
Tri-State Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame, celebrated at its 24th Annu-
al Spring Banquet on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the Best Western Inn at
Hunt's Landing; and
WHEREAS, The Tri-State Chamber of Commerce acts as the local Chamber
of Commerce for the City of Port Jervis and Town of Deerpark, Orange
County, New York, the Borough of Matamoras, Pike County, Pennsylvania,
and the Village of Montague, Sussex County, New Jersey; these three
communities are located in the three fastest growing counties in their
respective states; and
WHEREAS, The purpose of the Tri-State Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame
is to recognize and honor those businesses that have shown dedication to
the Chamber and its mission while improving the quality of life in the
Tri-State area through entrepreneurship, leadership and commitment to
the region's business community; and
WHEREAS, Laurel Grove Florist & Greenhouse has been selected for this
esteemed honor for its demonstration of innovation and entrepreneurship
in business, as well as for its integrity, accountability, and strong
sense of business ethics in day-to-day business operations; and
WHEREAS, Located in Port Jervis, New York, Laurel Grove Florist &
Greenhouse, serving the tri-state area since 1912, is family owned and
operated, and committed to offering only the finest floral arrangements
and gifts, backed by service that is friendly and prompt; and
WHEREAS, Owned and operated by Gary and Eileen since 2000, Laurel
Grove Florist & Greenhouse believes all of its customers are important;
its professional staff is dedicated to ensuring each individual's expe-
rience is a pleasant one, and truly goes the extra mile to make every
floral gift perfect; and
WHEREAS, Laurel Grove Florist & Greenhouse, with a beautiful view of
the Delaware River, is open seven days a week and has a large inventory
of fresh flowers including, tropicals, plants, European/dish gardens,
contemporary and traditional arrangements, as well as high-style floral
arrangements, silk arrangements, and dried floral arrangements; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, this exemplary business specializes in Wedding
and Funeral designs, and has an extensive gift line of gourmet and fruit
baskets, gift baskets, greeting cards, candles, mylar balloons, stuffed
animals, and candy; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those individ-
uals and businesses who enhance the well-being and vitality of their
community and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence
certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Laurel Grove Florist & Greenhouse upon the occasion of its
induction into the Tri-State Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame on May 17,
2014; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Laurel Grove Florist & Greenhouse, Port Jervis, New York.
