LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Genevieve and Michael Zachary upon the
occasion of their designation for special recognition by Green Tech High
Charter School
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Genevieve and Michael Zachary upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition by Green Tech High Charter School; they will be
honored at its First Annual Green Tech High Honors the Community Banquet
on Friday, June 13, 2014, at UAlbany, SUNY, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Genevieve and Michael Zachary have dedicated themselves to
the well-being and educational accomplishment of all the young people at
Green Tech High Charter School; the grandparents of two Green Tech
students, this dynamic couple exemplifies the power and potential of
direct community and adult involvement in our schools; and
WHEREAS, Genevieve Zachary sits on the Board of Trustees of Green Tech
High Charter School as the parent coordinator; Michael Zachary holds the
position of In-School Suspension and Evening Coordinator; working close-
ly with faculty, administration and students, they make a positive
difference in the school climate on a daily basis; and
WHEREAS, In her professional life, Genevieve Zachary has worked in
several capacities at Mildred Elley College, and has helped many people
change their lives through education, while Michael Zachary played semi-
pro basketball in the New England area in his younger years, in addition
to working in the construction field; and
WHEREAS, Genevieve and Michael Zachary have been called upon to
contribute their time and talents to countless civic and charitable
endeavors and have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, They are the proud parents of Maurisa, Jesse, and Wayne, and
the adoring grandparents of ten grandchildren and one great-grandson;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Genevieve and Michael Zachary have
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Genevieve and Michael Zachary have
displayed throughout their lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Genevieve and Michael Zachary upon the occasion of their desig-
nation for special recognition by Green Tech High Charter School; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Genevieve and Michael Zachary.
