LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Pastor Charlie Muller upon the occa-
sion of his designation for special recognition by Green Tech High Char-
ter School

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Pastor Charlie Muller upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by Green Tech High Charter School; he will be honored at its
First Annual Green Tech High Honors the Community Banquet on Friday,
June 13, 2014, at UAlbany, SUNY, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Charlie Muller is Senior Pastor at Victory Christian
Church; this distinguished man of God has devoted himself and his minis-
try to the well-being and support of at-risk and vulnerable children in
Albany's inner-city neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, Since 1994, Pastor Charlie Muller's programs have aimed to
fill the gaps caused by failed or absent parenting, providing children
with adult supervision, meals, after-school tutoring, and recreational
opportunities, particularly through the Dream Center teen ministry; in
addition, the Let's Make A Deal Thrift Shop in Albany's South End, which
sells used furniture and household supplies, raises funds that further
assist Albany youth; and
WHEREAS, A former used-car salesman who felt called to make a differ-
ence in people's lives, Pastor Charlie Muller volunteered for several
years at Berkshire Farm juvenile detention facility in Canaan, Columbia
County, preaching and working with troubled youths; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Charlie Muller has been called upon to contribute his
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, This tireless man co-directs an anti-violence program,
ENOUGH, which provides anti-violence education and aims to decrease
violence with its gun buyback program; to date this program has resulted
in 450 fewer guns on Albany streets; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Pastor Charlie Muller has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Pastor Charlie Muller has displayed
throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, to
commend Pastor Charlie Muller upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by Green Tech High Charter School; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Pastor Charlie Muller.
