LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Harvey Wiesenberg upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by North Shore Synagogue on June
7, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
efforts of those individuals within the State of New York who give of
their time and energies in support of spiritual endeavors which aim to
benefit the community at large; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Harvey Wiesenberg, upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by North Shore Synagogue; he will be honored at its Journal
Dinner Dance 2014, on Saturday, June 7, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Harvey Wiesenberg is being recognized for his dedicated and
exemplary efforts as a member of the Merger Committee during the joining
of North Shore Synagogue, of Syosset, New York, with Temple Beth Elohim,
of Old Bethpage, New York; and
WHEREAS, Harvey Wiesenberg and his family have been active members of
North Shore Synagogue for more than 20 years, participating in many
activities, and serving the congregation in several capacities, this
distinguished man has served on the Board of Trustees since 2007, and
has been a Vice President on the Executive Board for the past four
years; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Adelphi University with a Bachelor of Arts in
Business Administration, Harvey Wiesenberg has been part of many busi-
nesses over the years; he is also a Lifetime member of the Elmont Volun-
teer Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Meryl, and their
children, Amy and Matthew, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of
his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout its rich historical past and up to the present
day, the North Shore Synagogue has been sustained by the beneficent
efforts of countless congregants such as Harvey Wiesenberg, who have
generously supported their temple with abundant kindness and good deeds;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Harvey Wiesenberg upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by North Shore Synagogue, noting his unremitting
commitment, ceaseless devotion and spiritual resolve; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Harvey Wiesenberg.
