LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Donald M. Monaghan upon the occasion
of his retirement after many years of distinguished service to the
Village of West Carthage, New York

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Donald M.
Monaghan for his service as Superintendent of the Department of Public
Works for the Village of West Carthage, New York; and
WHEREAS, Donald Monaghan is retiring after 53 years of service; and
WHEREAS, Donald Monaghan began working for the Village of West
Carthage in 1961; and
WHEREAS, Donald Monaghan also served his country in Vietnam from 1967
to 1968; and
WHEREAS, Donald Monaghan was named Superintendent for the West
Carthage Department of Public Works in April of 1971; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Donald Monaghan has served with
extraordinary diligence and dedication to the Village of West Carthage
and its citizens; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Donald Monaghan for his service as Superintendent of the West
Carthage Department of Public Works; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Donald M. Monaghan.
