LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Hans Bader upon the occasion of his
designation as the recipient of a 2014 SUNY Chancellor's Award for
Excellence in Professional Service
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing tradition, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Hans
Bader upon the occasion of his designation as the recipient of a 2014
SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service, which
was celebrated on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Sullivan County Community
College (SUNY Sullivan) 50th Annual Commencement Ceremony in the Paul
Gerry Fieldhouse; and
WHEREAS, Facility and staff who receive the Chancellor's Award for
Excellence have served their students, fellow faculty and staff, campus-
es, and communities with the utmost distinction, and have demonstrated
extraordinary dedication and service to SUNY Sullivan; Hans Bader is one
such individual; and
WHEREAS, For close to 17 years, Hans Bader has worked at SUNY Sulli-
van; throughout this time, he has gained a reputation as a resolutely
cordial co-worker, a troubleshooter of incredible ingenuity, the go-to
Information Technology resource person par excellence, and the most
helpful, accommodating individual one could ever encounter when software
or hardware fails; and
WHEREAS, It is not uncommon to find Hans Bader still hard at work
during after-hours, and to call upon him in urgency to fix a problem; he
has been known to keep at a project well into the night or even until
the next morning; and
WHEREAS, As SUNY Sullivan's internal resource for all technology prob-
lems, everyone turns to Hans Bader for assistance, including his Infor-
mation Technology co-workers; and
WHEREAS, Hans Bader has dedicated his professional life to SUNY Sulli-
van, and the college has individually and collectively benefited from
his talent, knowledge and service; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of individuals such as Hans Bader, who, by providing their
skills and talents to our schools, work to support our proud tradition
of public education; and
WHEREAS, Hans Bader has clearly had an enduring impact on the youth of
SUNY Sullivan, as well as on the community-at-large, and accordingly
merits recognition and applause for his impressive dedication to others;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Hans Bader upon the occasion of his designation as the recipient
of a 2014 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional
Service; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Hans Bader.
