LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Susan Rogers upon the occasion of
her designation as the recipient of a 2014 SUNY Chancellor's Award for
Excellence in Faculty Service

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing tradition, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dr.
Susan Rogers upon the occasion of her designation as the recipient of a
2014 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Faculty Service, which
was celebrated on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Sullivan County Community
College (SUNY Sullivan) 50th Annual Commencement Ceremony in the Paul
Gerry Fieldhouse; and
WHEREAS, Faculty and staff who receive the Chancellor's Award for
Excellence have served their students, fellow faculty and staff, campus-
es, and communities with the utmost distinction, and have demonstrated
extraordinary dedication and service to SUNY Sullivan; Dr. Susan Rogers
is one such individual; and
WHEREAS, In 2010, Dr. Susan Rogers began teaching at SUNY Sullivan,
and in the very short time since her arrival has effected significant
institutional and departmental change; and
WHEREAS, In conjunction with major work she accomplished on SUNY
Sullivan's Middle States Self Study, Dr. Susan Rogers helped found the
Strategic Planning and Institutional Assessment Committee, which,
charged with developing a strategic plan, proposed the college conduct
an Appreciative Inquiry; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Susan Rogers worked determinedly with all possible
college constituencies planning, organizing, facilitating, coordinating,
and moderating additional Appreciative Inquiry sessions until SUNY
Sullivan had sufficient input to consolidate ideas into an institutional
assessment plan that would ultimately lead to full reaccreditation; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Dr. Susan Rogers has dedicated many hours to
promoting interest in the study of psychology, and fostering individual
well-being; and
WHEREAS, Among the SUNY Sullivan's faculty and staff, Dr. Susan Rogers
has an excellent reputation as a dedicated collaborator; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of individuals such as Dr. Susan Rogers, who, by providing their
skills and talents to our schools, work to support our proud tradition
of public education; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Susan Rogers has clearly had an enduring impact on the
youth of SUNY Sullivan, as well as on the community-at-large, and
accordingly merits recognition and applause for her impressive dedi-
cation to others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Susan Rogers upon the occasion of her designation as the
recipient of a 2014 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Faculty
Service; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. Susan Rogers.
