LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Stuart Silverstein, Class of 1973,
upon the occasion of his induction into the 2014 SUNY Delhi Athletic
Hall of Fame
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those indi-
viduals whose exceptional accomplishments and generous voluntary leader-
ship captivated the hearts and minds of their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Stuart Silverstein, Class of 1973, upon the occasion of his
induction into the 2014 SUNY Delhi Athletic Hall of Fame, to be cele-
brated at an induction ceremony held during Alumni Weekend on June 6-8,
2014; and
WHEREAS, From 1969 to 1973, Stuart Silverstein served as team manager
and assistant trainer to four teams while pursuing a Business and Hospi-
tality Management degree at SUNY Delhi; and
WHEREAS, Stuart Silverstein's love of sports and willingness to assist
wherever needed made him a favorite of coaches who led the basketball,
cross country, track and field, and soccer teams; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Stuart Silverstein served as a sports writer for
student publications, chronicling athletic accomplishments, and building
a stronger SUNY Delhi Bronco fan base; and
WHEREAS, Today, Stuart Silverstein continues to be one of SUNY Delhi's
biggest fans, following athletics, keeping classmates connected, and
promoting SUNY Delhi to those he encounters in his travels and around
the home he shares with his family in Bridgeport, Connecticut; and
WHEREAS, Outstanding supporters such as Stuart Silverstein provide a
tremendous service to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring
generations of student-athletes in their athletic journeys and ensuring
their success in their future years; and
WHEREAS, Stuart Silverstein has clearly been an inspiration to the
youth of SUNY Delhi, as well as to the community-at-large, and accord-
ingly merits recognition and applause for his impressive dedication to
others; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support our proud tradition of
public education by providing their skills and talents to our students
and our schools; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Stuart Silverstein, Class of 1973, upon the occasion of his
induction into the 2014 SUNY Delhi Athletic Hall of Fame; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Stuart Silverstein.
