LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Rose Peck upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Williamstown American Legion
on June 29, 2014

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Rose Peck,
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Williamstown American Legion on Sunday, June 29, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic
veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness, the American Legion
is the nation's largest wartime veterans service organization, committed
to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communi-
ties, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national securi-
ty, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans;
and
WHEREAS, Rose Peck has given 44 years of dedicated service to the
Hastings-Gorski American Legion Auxiliary, and is responsible for estab-
lishing the Ladies Auxiliary at Williamstown; and
WHEREAS, Rose Peck is an active member of the American Legion and the
only Charter President in the history of the Auxiliary, and without her
efforts, that Auxiliary would not be what it is today; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Rose Peck, upon the occasion of her designation for special recog-
nition by the Williamstown American Legion on June 29, 2014; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Rose Peck.
