LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Ernestine Freisinger upon the
occasion of celebrating her 102nd Birthday

WHEREAS, Senior citizens being a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their past
contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and valuable
asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, Ernestine Freisinger, affectionately known as Erna, was born
on July 4, 1912, in Vienna, Austria; and
WHEREAS, Ernestine Freisinger emigrated from Austria to the United
States when she was 28 years old, and has been a resident of Warwick,
New York, since 1941; currently, she resides at Schervier Pavilion nurs-
ing facility; and
WHEREAS, A former member of the Warwick Art League and an award-win-
ning artist, Ernestine Freisinger's paintings have been shown throughout
the region, and many are displayed in the homes of local residents; her
artwork was once selected for the cover of the Warwick Valley Telephone
Company's directory; and
WHEREAS, Ernestine Freisinger credits her own longevity to having a
loving family, as well as the healthcare she receives at Schervier
Pavilion; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Dr. H.R. Freis-
inger, until his passing, and she is the loving mother of her son, Dr.
Gerard Freisinger, as well as the loving grandmother of two grandchil-
dren, Patricia and Suzanne, and five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Timo-
thy, Sam, Maggie, and Carson, all of whom feel privileged to be a part
of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, This exceptional centenarian, with her zest for life, has
inspired and enhanced the lives of her family and friends; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished woman has experienced the incredible joys
and sorrows characteristic of and reserved for those with the stamina
and courage to savor a full life; and
WHEREAS, This beloved woman has enriched the lives of those around her
through her joyous and sincere love for others and through the quiescent
charm and wisdom which comes only from a fullness of years; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize those who have reached such a remarkable age and who have witnessed
and celebrated the innovations, cultural developments and awesome
achievements of this country during the last century, while themselves
contributing to the growth and excellence of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Ernestine Freisinger upon the occasion of celebrating her
102nd Birthday; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ernestine Freisinger.
