LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Robert Wood upon the occasion of his
retirement after 28 years of distinguished service to Clarkson Universi-
ty

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and honor
those distinguished citizens of this great Empire State who have devoted
themselves to faithfully serving the best interests of their community
and the needs of its residents; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Robert Wood upon the occasion of his retirement after 28 years of
distinguished service to Clarkson University; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Robert Wood served as Director of
Government Relations with intelligence and caring dedication, contin-
uously striving to effectively fulfill the duties of his position; and
WHEREAS, Robert Wood is a graduate of Colgate University and also
holds a master's degree in public administration from Syracuse Universi-
ty; he worked as the director of the New York State Senate Conservation
& Recreation Committee, and was legislative budget analyst for the New
York State Senate Finance Committee; furthermore, he worked for General
Electric as program manager for New York State government relations; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed man joined Clarkson University as Director of
Government Relations in 1986 and in his long tenure, has also served as
Assistant to the President; and
WHEREAS, Robert Wood's efforts were instrumental in obtaining a
significant appropriation from New York State which allowed Clarkson
University to establish the Center for Advanced Materials Processing and
to build the structure which bears its name; and
WHEREAS, Over a career spanning three decades at Clarkson, Rob Wood
has worked with administrators and faculty to secure much federal and
state funding for building projects and research initiatives across the
University; and
WHEREAS, Sincerely loved and greatly respected by all those with whom
he worked, Robert Wood will be remembered for his honesty, integrity,
keen sense of duty and ability to show a unique grasp of human problems
in his official acts; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Robert Wood, and to wish him continued success in all his future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robert Wood.
