LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Ann Marie Moore upon the occasion of her
retirement after 36 years of distinguished service to the Manhasset
Public Library

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ann
Marie Moore upon the occasion of her retirement after 36 years of
distinguished service to the Manhasset Public Library on Wednesday,
April 30, 2014; and
WHEREAS, For the past 36 years, Ann Marie Moore rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Manhasset Public Library; and
WHEREAS, Ann Marie Moore has dedicated her life to serving the commu-
nity, and has been a compassionate mentor and tireless advocate for the
library and its staff; and
WHEREAS, In 1969, this esteemed woman moved to Munsey Park with her
husband and three children, and began her career with the Manhasset
Public Library; she was first hired as a part time librarian, but was
soon promoted to full-time when a position became available; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Head of Reference, Ann Marie Moore served
with loyalty, honor and distinction, and was continuously at the fore-
front of the many changes that have occurred in the library world; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Ann Marie Moore was governed by kind-
ness and a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human
problems; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with Manhasset Public Library, Ann Marie
Moore earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend individ-
uals of outstanding character, who have shown initiative and commitment
toward constantly pursuing higher goals for themselves, and acting as
role models of leadership to be emulated by both peers and young people;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ann Marie Moore upon the occasion of her retirement after 36 years
of distinguished service to the Manhasset Public Library; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ann Marie Moore.
