LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Wine & Dine for the Arts upon the occa-
sion of its designation as recipient of the Civic Arts Patron Award by
the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District on June 13, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Wine
& Dine for the Arts upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of
the Civic Arts Patron Award by the Downtown Albany Business Improvement
District, to be celebrated at its Sculpture in the Streets Garden Party,
Keys to the City event on Friday, June 13, 2014, in Albany, New York;
and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award is named in recognition of longtime and
comprehensive support of the Arts in the Capital Region as well as Down-
town; and
WHEREAS, Wine & Dine for the Arts is an all-volunteer organization
whose mission is to provide sustainable funding for the support and
preservation of the not-for-profit Arts community in Albany, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Through its Annual 3-day Food and Wine themed Festival that
markets the local restaurants, chefs and innovative cuisine, Wine & Dine
for the Arts educates consumers on healthy, sustainable agriculture and
donates all net income directly to deserving non-profit Arts organiza-
tions; and
WHEREAS, Established in 2010, Wine & Dine for the Arts has already
raised significant funds for Arts organizations in the City of Albany
including Albany Center Gallery, Albany Barn, the Palace Theater, Capi-
tal Repertory Theatre, Albany Symphony Orchestra and Park Playhouse; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to recognize and pay tribute to Wine & Dine for the Arts; and
WHEREAS, In so effectively carrying out its mission, Wine & Dine for
the Arts has demonstrated the value of supporting and preserving the
local Arts community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Wine & Dine for the Arts upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Civic Arts Patron Award by the Downtown Albany Business
Improvement District on June 13, 2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Wine & Dine for the Arts.
