LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Bob Gephard for his many years of
distinguished service to Greystone Inc.

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Bob Gephard
for his service to community organizations throughout the Hudson Valley;
and
WHEREAS, Bob Gephard started his working career as a Project Design
Manager at Automated Systems Design, and went on to work at IBM, from
where he retired as an Advisory Engineer; and
WHEREAS, Bob Gephard is the holder of three patents and was the recip-
ient of an Outstanding Technical Achievement Award; and
WHEREAS, Bob Gephard has made contributions to the field of engineer-
ing through his participation as President of the local Chapter of Soci-
ety of Manufacturing Engineers, Professional Development Chairman of the
North East Region of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and as a
past technical advisor to the Dutchess Community College Engineering
Department; and
WHEREAS, Bob Gephard has served the community of the Hudson Valley
through his work as Commissioner for the Fairview Fire District, Ulster
County Fair Manager, President of the Ulster County Agricultural Socie-
ty, member of the Town of Poughkeepsie Advisory Board, and member of the
Hyde Park School District Budget Advisory Board, and as a former 4th
Ward Town Chairman of the Town of Poughkeepsie; and
WHEREAS, Bob Gephard has enhanced the community through his partic-
ipation in the Boy Scouts as Cub Master of Pack 17 and the Girl Scouts
as honorary "Girl Scout Dad," and as an assistant Little League coach;
and
WHEREAS, Bob Gephard has contributed to the education of his community
by teaching as an adjunct instructor at Dutchess Community College; and
WHEREAS, Bob Gephard is a former President and Secretary of Greystone
Programs' Endowment Board and Programs Board, respectively; and
WHEREAS, Greystone Programs' annual International Wine Showcase and
Auction has chosen to honor Bob Gephard on the occasion of its Silver
Celebration, to take place on September 14th at The Grandview, in Pough-
keepsie, New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Bob Gephard for his service to the Hudson Valley, and for his
selection to be honored by Greystone Programs' Annual International Wine
Showcase and Auction on the occasion of its Silver Anniversary Cele-
bration; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bob Gephard.
