LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Liam O'Keefe upon the occasion of
being elected to the Order of the Arrow, the Boy Scouts of America's
National Honor Society

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in accord with its
long-standing traditions, to honor the youth of today, and leaders of
tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the ideals and
values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Liam O'Keefe, through his diligence and vigorous efforts, has
been elected to the Order of the Arrow, the Boy Scouts of America's
National Honor Society; and
WHEREAS, Liam O'Keefe is a member of Boy Scout Troop 59 in Minisink,
New York; and
WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and
WHEREAS, For almost a century, the Order of the Arrow (OA) has recog-
nized Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in
their daily lives; Arrowmen are known for maintaining camping traditions
and spirit, developing leaders, and providing cheerful service to
others; and
WHEREAS, As Scouting's National Honor Society, OA develops leaders
with the willingness, character, spirit and ability to advance the
activities of their units, Brotherhood, Scouting, and ultimately our
nation; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
Boy Scout now stands honorably, with just pride in his accomplishments
and in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appre-
ciating the caring counsel and support provided by his teachers, Scout
leaders and parents; and
WHEREAS, Liam O'Keefe is a credit to his family, school, community,
and his State and Nation, and it is certain that his future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Liam O'Keefe upon the occasion of being elected to the
Order of the Arrow, the Boy Scouts of America's National Honor Society;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Liam O'Keefe, Minisink, New York.
