LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Cathy (Pinkala) Mitrano upon the occa-
sion of her induction into the Port Jervis High School Alumni Hall of
Fame in October 2014

WHEREAS, Individuals who distinguish themselves in their profession and
in service to their community merit the highest commendation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Cathy (Pinkala) Mitrano upon the occasion of her induction into the Port
Jervis High School Alumni Hall of Fame; her outstanding accomplishments
will be recognized in October 2014, at the 2014 Port Jervis High School
Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Banquet; and
WHEREAS, The Port Jervis High School Alumni Hall of Fame annually
recognizes individuals educated in the Port Jervis City School District
who have achieved personal success and have made significant contrib-
utions to society, thereby serving as role models to inspire current and
future generations of Port Jervis students; and
WHEREAS, Cathy (Pinkala) Mitrano graduated from Boston University Law
School, and went on to become Assistant Attorney General for Massachu-
setts; and
WHEREAS, In July 2008, Cathy (Pinkala) Mitrano was appointed to the
Senior Executive Service as Deputy Assistant Secretary, Army Review
Boards; in this role she is responsible for the Army Review Boards Agen-
cy, which serves as the highest administrative level of review of
personnel actions taken by lower levels of command in the United States
Army; and
WHEREAS, As a member of the 2014 Hall of Fame Class, Cathy (Pinkala)
Mitrano's name, photo, and biography will be inscribed on a plaque and
placed on permanent display at Port Jervis High School, an ever-present
reminder to students of the doors opened by a strong education; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those individ-
uals who enhance the well-being and vitality of their community, and
demonstrate a long and sustained commitment to excellence, certainly
have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Cathy (Pinkala) Mitrano upon the occasion of her induction into
the Port Jervis High School Alumni Hall of Fame; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Cathy (Pinkala) Mitrano.
